Isaac Makhdoomi, a Swiss recorder player with Indian roots, fulfilled a childhood dream in July 2022. Together with the proven baroque specialists from the "Ensemble Piccante", he recorded five flute concertos, an aria and arrangements of well-known Vivaldi works. In the run-up to the recording, there were three concerts with the programme of the CD in north-western Switzerland.
Together with the Piccante Baroque Orchestra, which is made up of early music specialists from the Basel music scene, Isaac Makhdoomi took the listeners on a fiery virtuoso sound journey to the Venice of the Venetian "Il prete rosso". Like no other, Vivaldi helped the recorder to musical heights with his compositions for recorder. Stupendous runs alternate with beautifully sighing melodies, which not infrequently contain a slight hint of the Orient.
Through his many years of study of Vivaldi's music, the student of flutist Maurice Steger has developed a very individual approach to the interpretation of Vivaldi's works. It is all the more gratifying that this individual approach has now been recorded on CD.

For his CD recording of the unknown sonatas for recorder and harpsichord by Domenico Maria Dreyer, Isaac Makhdoomi was nominated in the category of young artists for this year's Opus Klassik, the most prestigious classical music prize in Germany.
