"Kai Strobel, Omar Massa, who is also present as a composer, as well as Katharina Treutler fascinate on this CD with an excursion into a world of sound that is perhaps unfamiliar to the normal listener, but whose charms are by no means closed off in a suitable, open mood. This is serious and sensitive art.
It is played with much virtuosity, but also with refinement, rich in nuance and color. Strobel’s flawless technique and great musicality make the selected repertoire sound very good.
This is especially true of the compositions by Omar Massa, with their astonishing spaciousness, realized in one very evocative chamber music making. The rhythms never become an end in themselves, but are appropriately varied with passionate or poetic sequences of ideas.
The interpretations are perfectly balanced."
