"strong accents and bold splashes of color"

"Siberian-born flutist Matvey Demin, deputy principal flutist with the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich, and Riga-born pianist Gleb Koroleff have recorded three French sonatas for flute and piano by Francis Poulenc, Henri Dutilleux and César Franck, plus Tchaikovsky’s Serenade Mélancolique and an arrangement of La Campanella by Niccolo Paganini. This Campanella is performed with extreme virtuosity, while the two musicians cultivate the melodic throughout the sonatas, but Demin also does not hesitate at times to add strong accents and bold splashes of color."
