"Who is the Aquarius among composers? Judging by this album, it is probably Claude Debussy. He is most frequently represented in the program played by Romanian pianist Carmen Stefanescu.
We encounter water in its liquid, still, and frozen states, with works by well-known and lesser-known composers from the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries.
These are poetic pieces, some very calm and highly virtuosic, others bright and pastel-colored, extroverted and intimate. Carmen Stefanescu moves (or should I say swims) from one piece to the next with the utmost stylistic confidence, always striking the right note. She is thus able to convey the diversity of the music to our ears. It is a beautiful, very well-compiled, and excellently performed program!"
